I just brought the last four volumes of The Sandman, and spent about £60 odd quid.

WHY COULDN'T HAVE I RESISTED AND GOT THEM ON AMAZON FOR CHEAPER?!?!?!

Seriously, I have no impulse control when is comes to books.

Other news, my new laptop arrived on Monday. She is so beautiful and sleek and pretty, so I've dubbed her Helene. For some reason I've called all my technology after women from Greek Myth. My main computer is Hera, my phone is Artemis, my camara is Aphrodite, my iPods are Penelope and Andromache and my memory sticks are Persephone, Meda and Camilla. (Okay, so Camilla is Roman, not Greek. It's the stick I share with my mum, so..)

Yeah, I can be a little weird somethimes.

I have had the Bleach theme song stuck in my head. All. Fraking. Day. Of course, it's in Japanese, so I can't really sing it, which is what I normally do when I have a song stuck in my head. Argh!

Yeah, I brought the Season 1 Boxset from HMV yesterday. Only £15. Bargin, I thought. I've watched 8 episodes already and am taking a great effort to avoid spoilers, instead of diving into fandom head first. I... will... resist...

Just checked wikipedia. There's 13 seasons... *sob* Bye bye incentive for the next 6 months.
But, the English dub has only been released up until Season 4. I'm not sure what's worse, spending all my money on a series at once, or having to wait for each release.

Work Christmas do last night, and Work Quiz night the night before. Yes, I do sometimes have a social life! We came forth, but in our defence, we did have the smallest team (5 compared to the other teams 7 or 8) AND we were the reigning champions. Boo...

One of the fun things about being the only one not to drink (I don't touch alchohol at all)? You get to see everyone acting rediculously drunk, and remember it all in the morning. No hangover, either. Oh, there are going to be some sore heads tomorrow. (Or later today. I need to start getting to sleep earlier)

Remember what I said about not needing anymore fandoms?

One of the graphic novels I bought yesterday was the first volume of Fables, which I read today.

I just bought the next three off of Amazon, after just spending £30 on there on Monday.

*sigh* I'm hopeless...

So, back earlier than expected, but still...

WHEEEEEEEEEEE! SHOPPING!!!!

I now have six new tops, a new corset, a new coat, new hair sticks, new pendent, four new graphic novels, a new Pern novel, the DVD of Spirited Away, new socks and a small adorably soft Eeyore.

Whew!

And part of my mum's christmas present.

One thing I learned? I should not be allowed into Forbiden Planet with large sums of money. I spent £50 there alone.

Approx. spent today, including train fare, underground and food? £250.

Yeah, fun, but not to be done too often, otherwise I won't be able to afford my rent.

I LOVE LONDON!!!

So. Dad didn't call. Again.

Sometimes I don't know why I bother.

Bah.

Nevermind, think about next week. Am going shopping in London on tuesday. First time going up to London completely on my own, so should be interesting. Not difficult hopefully, as for about the past five years, I've been to one leading and navigating all the trips I've taken up there, so... (Mother and friends can't read maps to save their lives.) No, seriously, when I went to Paris earlier this year? I did all the route planning, and when me and my friend got spit up, I got back to hotel room in less than an hour, while she took three hours, travelling all over the city. It was kinda stupid really. We were getting the metro to this club we read about, and I got off at the right station, and she didn't. Trouble was, that was one of the last metro trains. Not the stupidest thing that happened on the trip, however. I have learned never go to a club with just one other friend, especially when you don't drink anything, and she gets completely hammered. I wanted to go home, she didn't, I ended up screaming at her in the loos while she just stood there and giggled, then I stormed off back to the hotel, leaving her there. Yeah, not my most stella moment.

Yeah, like I said earlier. I suck at keeping this updated.

Life is dull at the moment. Work is slow, I seem to have lost all communication with my friends (All my fault, 'm 'fraid) and, well, nothing's really going on.

I have been spending way too much money on books and comics, though. Since the last post, I've bought the next three Ultimate X-Men (14, 15 and 16); Vol. 2 and 3 of Astonishing X-Men; Decimation: X-Men - The Day After; Battle Royale; Stargate SG1: Hydra; The Tiger Warrior; Tolkien's The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun; The Ancients In Their Own Words and Alan Lee's The Lord Of the Rings Sketchbook, which I used my Waterstone's points on, so got six pounds off. Go me! I wonder how much it would have been if I got it on Amazon?

Huh. Only about a pound cheaper than what I got if for. And the other large hardback, The Ancients In Their Own Words, is twice the price I paid for it. Thank the gods for cheap bookshops.

Almost forgot, ordered Days of Future Present last night. Second hand, so I'm hoping that it'll be here tomorrow. Despite having a load of prose novels to read, I am really addicted to comic books, and feel bored if I don't have a new one to read. Given I go through them like wildfire, I'm spending way too much money on them. In the three months or so since this the 'addiction' started, I have bought over thirty trade paperbacks. I would buy the actual comics, since WHSmiths actually stock them, but they're about three years behind. Literally, I picked up the most recent issue to day to flick throught it, and it was the second part of Torn, realised back in 2006.

Saw X-Men Origins: Wolverine about two weeks ago. While it wasn;t a perfect film (Does such thing exist?) I did find it enjoyable. Then, my knowledge of comic canon isn't the brilliant, so I was able to watch is a movie, not an adaptation, as it were.

Watched all of one more episode of Primeval, but that one episode was enough to send me straight to Deniel. If you sollow the series, I'm sure you know what I mean.

Supernatural Finale tonight! Eeeeeeee!!!!

So I've been stood up. By my Dad. Again.

He was ment to call me lunch time on Sunday to arrang going to see a movie. 35 hours later, and I ain't heard a word from him. I don't even have a number to contact him with in the UK, so I can't call him to ask what the hell is going on.

I don't know what I'm more pissed about, that he's let me down again, or that after sixteen years I'm still give him the benefit of the doubt. Normally, he's not so bad, half and hour late or som, but other times...

Gods, I'm fucking eighteen, and I'm still stressing about my Dad not getting in contact with me. Most people my age don't mind if their partents drop out of their life for a bit.

And the funny thing is? I can't get mad at him when he does get in contact with, 'caude I'm so fucking glad that he has and I just feel mean. I know my anger is justified, but I just can't seem to express it to him.

Based on plans made last week, we're supposed to go up to London this weekend to go 'geek-shpping' (Forbidden Planet, comic book stores, Camden Market ect.) Be interesting to see if that happens.

On a different topic, I just spend over £60 on Amazon to cheer myself up, all comic books. I ordered the next two Ultimate X-Men (12 and 13) Marvel 1602, House of M, Age of Apocalypse Book 1 and the first Amazing X-Men (Gifted). Should keep me going for a while.  Also bought the Iron Man novelisation in Waterstones today, to read while at work and on the bus. I love comic books, but the trade paperbacks just don't fit in my bag.

Got my Mum into Ashes to Ashes tonight, with the first episode of Series 2. 'Twas a good episode. She's promised to watch Life on Mars with me when I finally get 'round to ordering the DVDs. Yet another show(s) I've corrupted her with. Speaking on shows, I should really watch Primeval. I'm two weeks behind know. i have to admit, despite only have seen two episodes, I already miss Stephen. The show just isn't the same without Nick/Stephen Hoyay., m
